Community Affairs Coordinator
Responsible for the development and
implementation of a comprehensive fair housing program specifically targeted to
local congregations, including but not limited to the preparation and dissemination
of materials, making presentations, and scheduling presentations for others.
Promote an understanding of fair housing issues in the community at large, and
assist in the development of productive relationships with other advocacy
groups, agencies, service providers and the housing industry. Assist in the
development production and distribution of fair housing information, including
written, audio, and audio-visual materials. Assist in the preparation of
information about H.O.M.E.'s activities for the media, including press
releases.
Accomplishments: Developed and implemented Education and Outreach to
Clergy and Congregations program, including the designing of the brochures,
flyers, promotional and instructional materials used in speeches, seminars and
training sessions. Co-wrote the scripts for the Fair Housing Information
Service (an automated 24 hour information line) and taped the narratives on the
service. Spoke before a number of church groups, community service
organizations and real estate professionals in Richmond and Vicinity.
